Mulberry, Spinningfields Manchester

FGI supplied approximately 80m2 of float laminated glass for the shop front of Mulberry’s new store at Spinningfields, a smart pedestrian retail area that’s become Manchester’s latest premium shopping destination. The glass was precision cut to size and edge polished by FGI at its state-of-the-art production facility in Manchester.

The new glazed shop front specified laminated glass in thicknesses of 12.8mm and 16.8mm and in panel sizes up to 2,819 x 2,906mm. The large sized sections posed no problem for FGI’s fully automated laminated glass cutting line and advanced edge polishing equipment, ideal for the production of high performance glass for applications such as partitioning, balustrades, and new or replacement shop front glazing.

FGI’s comprehensive service for the new Mulberry store contract included timed deliveries involving fully certified metal stillages for Hiab unloading to ensure safe and secure handling. The glass was installed on site by commercial glazing specialists, Richard Gent Ltd, into an aluminium shop front framing system. Summing up, FGI’s Stuart Farrington says: “This prestigious project in the heart of Manchester demonstrates FGI’s ability to offer a rapid and reliable glass processing service, whilst maintaining the high optical quality the commercial and retail markets demand.”
